The Area
Sunshine City is a modern business, shopping, and entertainment complex near Ikebukuro train station. This self-styled "city within a city" could fill up your entire day.
It includes the 60-story Sunshine 60 building, the World Import Mart and the Culture Hall with its own theater and museum. There is also an aquarium and an observatory with a rooftop outdoor-viewing platform. The Sunshine City Prince Hotel is the heart of the complex.

- Sunshine International Aquarium - Visitors can spend hours observing the 37,000 exotic and sometimes rare fish, about 750 species.
- Ancient Oriental Museum - A fine collection of pre-Islamic Middle Eastern art objects including pottery, glass and jewelry are featured here.
- Sunshine Theater - Enjoy varieties of plays, musicals, and concerts.

- Metropolitan Art Space - This cultural complex is a pleasing integration of concert halls, theaters, exhibition centers and a green area of trees, shrubs and artificial waterfalls under a 100-ft. high atrium. (12-minute walk)
- Rikkyo University - The leafy campus with its brick buildings and masses of ivy are a nice contrast to the downtown glitter. (15-minute walk)
- Furukawa Garden - The garden and its main building which resembles a Scottish manor house, are works of British architect Josiah Conder. (20 minutes by car)
